[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diTpeYoqAhc&feature=player_embedded#!] Google has done it– applied its mysterious brain trust directly to the tube. Google TV is here and looks to be, in true Google-style, amazingly practical. The company has essentially applied its get-your-brain-around-what-really-matters perspective to how people watch television. That means aggregation and connection, with a side of ease. It’s interesting that rather than upping its offering of Google Video (which can stream other players like YouTube), Google has leapfrogged directly to the source. The search engine behemoth ultimately gets to take advantage of the reason television is still used to watch our shows: quality. Those using Google TV to watch some of the first 3D programs ever will truly be on the cutting edge in entertainment.
